This espresso cup was thrown using a high iron stoneware and reduction fired in a gas kiln to around 1260c.
 
Shino glaze is a type of ceramic glaze that originated in Japan. Renowned for its unique characteristics, including a rustic and organic appearance, subtle variations in colour and texture. It often forms beautiful crackle patterns that have been favoured by potters for centuries.
