Two-Day Mug Making Workshop
This hands-on workshop is split into two 3-hour sessions over two days. On day one, you’ll learn to throw the body of a mug or cup on the wheel. The second session focuses on trimming your piece and pulling and attaching handles. After the workshop, I’ll glaze and fire your finished mug and send it to you once it’s ready. The workshop is available for individuals or small groups of up to two people.

When?

Sessions can be scheduled in May this year, or if that doesn’t suit you we can arrange an alternative date at a time that’s more convenient for you. Once you’ve purchased your voucher, I’ll be in touch by email or phone to organise a date and time that works best for you.

What should I bring?

An apron will be provided, but wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy... Clay has a way of getting everywhere! It won’t stain or damage fabric, but I recommend bringing a spare set of clothes, including footwear, just in case.

Will there be a break?

Yes, we’ll take a short break about halfway through the session.

Can I take my piece home?

One suitable piece will be glazed, fired, and then sent to you by post. There’s a £5 charge for each additional item you choose to fire.

Who is this for?

This lesson is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone who’s already familiar with the basics and wants to refine their technique.

Will there be more advanced lessons?

For those with some experience on the wheel, I’ll be offering more focused lessons next year on making cups, mugs, lidded jars, and more

Where are the lesson held?

The lessons will be held in my new studio, located just outside the village of Dilwyn in Herefordshire, nestled between Leominster and Hay-on-Wye
