These stoneware beakers were finished with a Sage glaze and reduction fired in a gas kiln to 1250°C
 
Reduction firing in ceramics involves a kiln atmosphere with limited oxygen, causing chemical reactions that change the colors of glazes; iron oxide, in particular, can produce blues and greens.
